Ingredients
- 2 cups butter, melted and cooled and divided into 1 ½ cup and ½ cup
- ¼ oz (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 3 tsp salt
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar, divided into ¼ cups
- 4 cups of all purpose flour
- 1 ¼ cup warm water
- 2 tbsp This Little Goat went to India, and more for garnish
- Powdered sugar, for garnish
Directions
- Proof yeast in warm water
- Combine ¼ cup granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, and salt
- With a stand mixer, mix with paddle attachment. Add in yeast water and 1½ cup of melted butter
- Once combined, but still lumpy, cover and let rest and rise for about 2 hours or until doubled in size
- Once dough has doubled in size, lightly knead dough so all air leaves
- Place in greased sheet pan and allow to sit overnight in fridge
- On the following day, bring out dough and allow to reach room temperature
- Preheat oven to 350 F
- Combine remaining ¼ cup sugar, ½ cup melted butter, and This Little Goat went to India
- Press bread down creating dimples with your fingers
- Pour cooled and melted butter mixture over bread and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown
- Once cooled sprinkle with powdered sugar and This Little Goat went to India
